Floors are in

Just a few pictures, to include the finished flooring. It is all vinyl, all over the house. I am sick of carpets, vacuuming, and DUST MITES. Ahem.

Living room, showing my two big picture windows, and fabulously coordinated ceiling fan, which, in case you forgot, comes with a remote control. HEE

I like the way the floor shines.

though I admit this picture is a little dark...

I love my all-blue closet in the bathroom. And the floor.

Joe's closet in the bedroom. And the floor.

countertops are in

Kitchen countertops

Kitchen counters closer up

Master bath double sink (still covered in plastic for protection)

Second bath counter top with sink (covered in plastic)

light fixtures in

plain light fixture- this is the basic one that is all over the house

In the kitchen and utility room we have these fluorescent lights

This is the ceiling fan I found months after I'd picked the cabinets, lights, and hardware (brushed nickle). I can't believe how close they match! I love this ceiling fan so much also, because it came with a remote control. Woot!! There is one in the living room and one in the master bedroom.

dining room light fixture

I love it! And it really goes well with the ceiling fan light fixture!

We have interior color!

Master bedroom- closet on left, entrance on right.
The blue is named Cloudless.

Master bathtub nook

my closet is blue inside and out!

master bath- shower and entrance to master bedroom

kitchen is Crescent Cream

the peninsula island will align with the color change on the wall
dining room, from kitchen

back door and door to laundry room- dining room window to the side
the hall is completely cream; we will line it with all of our family photos (+ Joe)

I love this last picture so much; you can see all of my colors! The Lupine on the outside of the house (that's the porch ceiling); outside trim is Portabella (tan-ish); the door is Carmine (blood red!); and then the Crescent cream and Cloudless inside. Whatcha think?

My office opening, off of the living room. I'm gonna put bead curtains or something up.

pictures to match previous entry

sheetrock in bedroom. the door leads to my bathroom.
Special green sheet rock for wet areas. This is my shower.

I love this picture; I'm standing where my kitchen sink will be. To the left is the door to the laundry room, and the pass-through to my bathroom and bedroom. To the right is the living room, and you can see the entrance to my office (it's open). The hall is in the middle of this picture, obscured by the dining room half-wall.

Love the two big picture windows in my living room!

Love my pantry!

Some news, no pics

Well I thought they were going kind of slow, but found out yesterday our foreman says the house will be done in 30 days. This is about 4 weeks earlier than we anticipated... so stress levels went up. We still need to sell our mobile home or we will have to work a double mortgage. Plus we have to remove the mobile home from the premises before we can move into the new house. Worst case scenario is we would have to pay to have it moved away, and continue the mortgage. We don't have the money for either of these so yeah... stress!

In the house, the drywall is done and they are doing woodwork right now- baseboards, window frames, doors, closet shelves, etc. I expect they will pour it on today, then not so much tomorrow. We are expecting the torrential monsoon storms to return tonight around midnight and last through tomorrow. They don't come out when it is pouring rain. Because, it is a holy mud-hell.

I forgot my camera cord. so I will post some pictures tomorrow.

sheetrock (no pics this post)

forgot my camera cord. I think it is still packed.

They got the sheet rock up over the weekend, while we were out of town. So now I can see the rooms as individual spaces more, and the house as a whole, a little less. But that's great.

One subcontractor is there to do all of the trim (sheet rock trim); he slept over in the house last night, having brought a bedroll. It was kind of weird, but also OK with me. But I didn't get to go out there to inspect the day's progress. Oh well.

Tomorrow I'll put up the few pics I have of the sheetrock. We took some pictures when we got back from Port Arther, before the sun went down. The guy who slept over arrived barely after sunrise the next day.

That is all.

no news...

Nothing has been done on the house since last Thursday... I'm guessing it's the rain. Total mudpit.

Joe wired some extra phone and cable lines into the house himself over the weekend.

That's about it.

Zzzzzzzzzzz.......
